Hi Everybody!
Earlier today i wrote in here, but my comp. messed up, so now I am back at it again!
THIS IS A LONG BUT VERY THOROUGH - dont know how to spell it - POST
Well lets start off with what probably everybody is dying to hear about... The Wedding!!!
The wedding was held at the Christ Church near the flea market at Waterloo Plain. A small but very beautiful Church. I was there in excellent time (cudos to myself) and found myself sitting later amongst Ned and Jakub. Very nice! As we waited Sam would drop by, and new people such as Magda from Poland and Eva from Germany would join in (all later staff).
Suddently Heidi would walk in. My smile grew and grew.. She was soo pretty and as our eyes met, the biggest smile came onto both our lips! the wedding had started and man..... we were happy!
They both looked so cute during the whole ceremony that was very relaxed and nice. We would sing some worship before the speak from the Pastor and all. All in all it was a very nice sermon with the Lord in focus! Good stuff!
As the wedding ended Ned was so kind to bike me back to the Shelter where i stayed, for my presents! Yep.. i forgot them! and then afterwards he would bike me to the Dwaze Zaken where the reception was held. A very low key, relaxed atmosphere was spread amongst the guests who all were blowing bubbles (from a bubble maker thing shaped like a wedding cake). Really funny.. I havent seen that before!
After the reception the family went for dinner, while I would go (for my very first time beyond the reception at the Shelter City) with Magda and Eva - my new buds!
Yummi - fish sticks and mashed potatoes the shelter way! btw what other way to make it?
Thereafter we went for Reception No. 2 - V.I.P's only.. This was also at the Dwaze Zaken with snacks, drinks, cake, bubbles and of course Salsa dancing.... A lot of fun!
Well that pretty much sums up the Wedding. If you want additional Info, just ask!
Now for "THE MORE PART"
I just read your post Treasure, and it was scary! You know me to well :-)
About the Favors - I just read your mail today! - You wrote:
- "please take a long leisurely stroll through Vondelpark" - I did
- "do take lots of pictures while you're there" - I did
- "please grab a guitar and sing a couple of songs in the cafe" - I did
- "please buy some fishermans friend and coca-cola light for yourself and know that i would have treated you if i had been there" - I bought the F. Friend in Denmark and treated myself to some Coke lights :-)
- "sketch something while you're there" - I did
- "have a late night conversation with Harald" - I did
That just scared me!!!
Well I had a truly magnificent time in our beloved city! I wrote in the staff book ( which has taken me 4 years to do so), but it made me realise how much i loved the city, the people i worked with and the guests! You people have filled a big part in my life, in three of the most wonderful months i have lived to see yet! I am truly greatful to God that I have met all of you! You are very dear to me, and for the very first time, I realised how dear! (its alot)
I just loved strolling through the city! Seeing new places, old places and for once, gave myself time to see the city by night! That was awesome! The Vondelpark was great, and it was great to be treated with respect (for once) by the new staff.. They were really cool. They invited me to brunch, poetry night, Sattelite 7 concert ( a dutch band) and were just plain kind. As well for the guests...
I found out why people always were hanging out in the cafe all day, but still havent found out why people use chocolate sprikles on their food... I guess i never will understand!
i recon this is getting far to long, but if you want to know more about my trip ask, because im dying to tell everyone!
To end this post, I want to say Thank you! You are truly wonderful and I love you very very much! I have been lucky to meet people like you, and for that I am greatful! You guys rock!
cheers
Carl
